Do my credits expire?
Credits you pay for never expire. The $5 of trial credit your first workspace starts with (one trial per account) expires after 30 days, so build your integration while it lasts.
Do test keys spend credits?
Never. Keys created in test mode run the same code against a separate, unbilled quota, so integration work and CI runs stay free.
What happens when I run out?
Live keys return a JSON
402 insufficient_credits
until the balance is topped up. Turn on auto top-up from the billing page and the
saved card refills the balance before it runs dry.
How do I get to pay as you go?
Buy credit. The first paid top-up promotes the workspace from the free trial to pay as you go, which lifts the monthly request cap and raises the document, upload, retention and concurrency limits immediately.
